Requirements for One Net Business services

Note

One Net Manager settings

Please note that One Net Manager settings aren't currently available. Company administrators may email requests for changes to settings to Vodacom One Net Support on 0821951@vodacom.co.za.

Alternatively, if you have a service request number, contact 082 1951 and quote that as your reference number.

For the One Net Business services and the individual One Net Business applications to operate correctly and effectively, your IT system must meet the requirements shown below.

Network requirements

Your network environment must meet the following minimum requirements in order to support One Net Business.

  • Structured category 5 cabling or better.
  • 100/1000mbps LAN switch with:
    • Optional support for 802.3af Power over Ethernet.
    • 802.1Q VLANs to support logical voice and data network separation
    • Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP).
  • Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server – voice Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) with DHCP scope options.
  • Time server access.
  • LAN switch configured to provide Quality of Service (QoS) and prioritise voice traffic over other less sensitive data traffic within your LAN, using the following mechanisms:
    • Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP) markings to identify different types of traffic on your network.
    • Prioritisation and Low Latency Queueing (LLQ) of voice traffic, to ensure it is given priority over other non time sensitive traffic such as web browsing or email.
  • If you use separate voice and data VLANs within your LAN, IP handsets require one of the following methods of voice VLAN discovery:
    • DHCP scope options: Option 132 VLAN ID
    • LLDP

Alternatively, IP handsets can be statically configured to a desired VLAN ID via configuration menus.
