Overview of the setup process

The following steps describe our overall process for setting up One Net Business after we have received your order.

Step 1: Welcome call

You can contact Vodacom in the following ways:

  • through the indirect sales channel (business partners)
  • through the direct sales channel (Vodacom account managers)
  • by calling 0821960 and logging a ticket

Every logged ticket is then distributed to the relevant sales channel. To deliver the perfect solution and meet all the requirements, our team performs a needs analysis for every customer.

Step 2: Engagement process

During this stage, we'll collect all the technical data we need for the technical implementation of One Net Business. We'll ask you to fill in our LAN assessment form to check if your local network is ready for One Net Business implementation. We'll also send a configuration form for you to complete to tell us which users we need to set up, their phone extensions and their cellphone numbers. You should also use the form to identify who you are designating as your One Net Business 'enterprise' administrator.

Step 3: One Net Business implementation

When suitable data lines are available, we'll contact you again to confirm that we are proceeding to configure your One Net Business service on our technical platform. We'll also confirm the delivery date for the IP phones and any other devices you have ordered.

Our project managers will confirm the One Net Business setup with you to ensure that the actual service implementation reflects the initial input provided in the technical order form and the service configuration form.

Step 4: One Net Business configuration

Our team will configure One Net Business for you and perform the necessary tests to ensure the service works as expected. Once the configuration process is complete, our project manager will contact you and advise on the next steps.

Note

The time needed to configure the One Net Business service depends on the availability of other services, such as the internet access or VoIP.

Step 5: Delivery of devices

If you have arranged for Vodacom to install One Net Business at your premises, our engineers will set up the new phones and configure your services. Otherwise, when your phones are delivered, your administrators should help your users to set them up.

Our team still needs to carry out training for users on One Net Business applications, such as the tablet app or the Receptionist client.

Step 6: Customization phase

The new phones arrive configured with new numbers so that your organisation can try out One Net Business while continuing to use its existing phone system in parallel. For the next few weeks, you should customise One Net Business to suit your organisation's needs, and you should use and test the services and applications. We'll email you with suggestions for testing your system.

Our team can help you install additional LAN services, such as a LAN adapter, Power over Ethernet (PoE) switches and also configure existing switches to support One Net implementation.

Note

These extra installation services are available at an additional cost. Configuration of switches is limited to Cisco, Juniper® and HP® devices.
