About forwarding selected calls

If you want more control over forwarding your incoming calls, you can set up rules that automatically determine what happens with calls that meet your criteria.

For example, you can:

  • Forward calls from a specific number
  • Forward calls on selected days of the week
  • Decide which of your phone numbers use selective forwarding

You can create multiple sets of call forwarding rules.

Calls are forwarded only when they meet all the of the specified criteria.

Using an auto-attendant

You can use an auto-attendant when forwarding calls for a hunt group.

For example, an auto-attendant can play a greeting message that describes your business hours, but does not allow the caller to leave a voicemail message. To set up this type of auto-attendant, select a personal greeting, but do not select any actions for the dialling menu.

Forwarding calls overnight or during holidays

If you want to forward calls during specific periods, such as overnight or during holidays, you must first set up schedules for those periods.
