Setting voicemail options
Administrators can activate or deactivate the voicemail service for users, and set up options such as when calls are sent to voicemail, how users can access messages and whether they receive an email notification when they have a message.
If you want to give callers the option of transferring to another number as well as, or instead of, leaving a message, you can provide the number to transfer to.
If the user is assigned to a hunt group or call centre, their personal settings for forwarding calls (including forwarding to voicemail) are not taken into account for incoming calls distributed by this hunt group or call centre.
In such case, you can use One Net Anywhere or One Net Mobility for forwarding calls instead.
To choose when to send calls to voicemail
For administrators only
- If you're an enterprise administrator, from the Standort list, select the site.
- From the Benutzer list, select the user.
- Select Anrufdienste > Mailbox-Verwaltung > Bearbeiten.
Forward call settings take precedence over voicemail settings
For example, if you select options to forward unanswered calls to a number and to send unanswered calls to voicemail, unanswered calls are forwarded to the number you entered.
To receive voicemail messages on the phone
For administrators only
- If you're an enterprise administrator, from the Standort list, select the site.
- From the Benutzer list, select the user.
- Select Anrufdienste > Mailbox-Verwaltung > Bearbeiten.
- Select Nachrichtenspeicher verwenden.
- Select Anzeige für wartende Mailboxnachrichten verwenden if you want your phone to indicate that you have a message, for example using an envelope icon.
- Select Ein for E-Mail-Empfängeradresse für Benachrichtigungen zu neuer Nachricht if you want to be notified by email that you have a new voicemail and enter the email address.
- Select Ein for Kopie der Nachricht als E-Mail Anhang versenden: if you want the notification email to be copied to another email address and enter the email address.
To receive voicemail messages by email
For administrators only

To set up an alternative number for callers
You can give callers the option of transferring to another number as well as, or instead of, leaving a message.
For administrators only
- If you're an enterprise administrator, from the Standort list, select the site.
- From the Benutzer list, select the user.
- Select Anrufdienste > Mailbox-Verwaltung > Bearbeiten.
- Select Ein for Bei „0“ umleiten an Rufnummer: and enter the required phone number. You can use digits and the - character. The phone number can begin with 0 or the + character, for example: +49 211-555-1111.

Administrators can also set up other voicemails settings on behalf of users.
