Home Worker overview
To start using Home Worker, you need the following:
- A pre-configured One Net desk phone
- Broadband internet connection
- A fixed broadband router with a spare Ethernet port
- An additional power adapter from our customer care or your delivery coordinator (unless you already have a spare power adapter or you use Power over Ethernet facilities at home)
Up to three desk phones
With Home Worker, you can have up to three desk phones per site, with no need for a dedicated access line.
Key things to remember
When using Home Worker, you need to remember about the following:
- Your One Net desk phone will work only in the UK.
- You should connect your One Net desk phone to your broadband router.
- For optimal performance, your One Net desk phone should only be used in average household temperatures. Avoid humid conditions.
- As your One Net desk phone requires a power supply, don't rely on your One Net desk phone for emergency calls during power outages.
Regular firmware update
To keep your desk phone's firmware up to date, connect it to your main office One Net service every six months.
Internet requirements
To ensure the best quality of calls, your internet connection needs to have sufficient bandwidth available.

Before the installation
Before the installation, you need to physically connect your desk phone to your main office One Net service and download the current One Net settings.
To download the current One Net settings
- Take your One Net desk phone to your office that uses the One Net service.
- Using an Ethernet cable, connect your One Net desk phone to the One Net network.
- Wait until the settings are downloaded.
