An auto-attendant is an automated receptionist that answers calls with an announcement and a menu of dialling options. It transfers calls according to the options the caller selects.

Auto-attendants are assigned to company phone numbers and perform user actions such as receiving and forwarding calls. They can be assigned call services, such as voicemail, which are set up in a similar way to normal users. Setting up an auto-attendant includes setting up the announcements and dialling menus, as well as closed hours.
