Managing hunt groups

Note

Information for administrators

A hunt group is a way to manage calls coming to a phone number that is shared by a group of people. The distribution of the calls depends on the ringing pattern applied to teams in the hunt group.

Note

Are other features active?

You can't activate a hunt group for a company number that has auto-attendant or call queue features active. Deactivate these features for the company number before activating a call queue for it.

Setting a ringtone for a hunt group

You can set a distinctive ringtone for each hunt group so the members of the hunt group can identify which number is calling their desk phone.

Hunt group ID

Members of the hunt group can use the hunt group ID to:

  • Retrieve hunt group voicemail with the phone shortcut #121#<hunt group ID>*
  • Make calls on behalf of the hunt group using the phone shortcut #22#<hunt group ID><number>*
